Invite provisioned Workplace user accounts

This article is only applicable to system admins.
When you have provisioned Workplace user accounts, the next step is inviting them.
There are a few different ways you can invite provisioned Workplace user accounts:
  • Invite people one by one: you can send invitations on an individual basis.
  • Invite several people: you can send invitations to all provisioned accounts, or use filters to invite specific groups of people.
  • Create rules: automate searching for provisioned accounts to invite by setting up rules that capture provisioned accounts that meet certain conditions (such as job title or department) on an ongoing basis.
How to invite people one by one
To send an invitation to just one person:
  1. Click Admin Panel Admin Panel in the left menu on Workplace.
  2. Click People People.
  3. Click Add filter.
  4. Select Account status and then click awaiting invitation.
  5. Double-click away from the filter bar to refresh the screen.
  6. Use any other filters to speed up your search, such as name or job title.
  7. Click Invite next to the name of the person you want to invite.
  8. Follow the on-screen instructions.
How to invite several people
You can send an invitation to all provisioned accounts, or use filters to invite specific groups.
To do this:
  1. Click Admin Panel Admin Panel in the left menu on Workplace.
  2. Click Pending invitations.
  3. From the Awaiting invitations tab, you can:
    • Click Invite all (number).
    • Add more filters such as job title or department, then double-click away from the filter bar to refresh the screen, then click Invite all (number).
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions.
How to create rules
You can set up rules that capture provisioned accounts that meet certain conditions (such as job title or department) on an ongoing basis, so you don’t have to manually search for users to invite.
To do this:
  1. Click Admin Panel Admin Panel in the left menu on Workplace.
  2. Click People People.
  3. Click the Invite rules tab.
  4. Click New rule.
  5. Enter a rule name and decide whether you want to add people to the rule manually or sync with profile fields. Click Next.
  6. One of the criteria will be that the account’s status is awaiting invitation. Add any more conditions that you'd like. When done, click Next.
  7. Customize the invitation to people who meet the conditions of the rule, then click Save.
You can create as many rules as you like. You can also edit your rules at any time, by clicking More next to your rule in your rules list.
Note: invitations are not sent automatically. Rules just capture people who meet the conditions of your rule on an ongoing basis. To send invitations, go to the Invite rules tab in PeoplePeople and click Send invitations.
